Facts

On the Norwegian side, Storelva meanders quite quietly towards Rössvattnet, Norway's second largest lake. The river is crossed at a bridge crossing. The high alpine Okstinderna with a glacier far larger than the largest Swedish glacier in Sulitelma dominates the landscape. 2.5 km from the Norwegian road end at Nymoen is Storfuran, a centuries-old pine tree that has been protected and is a destination in the area.

Steikvassli Farm, located 2.5 kilometers to the west at the mouth of the Steikvassli River in the lake, has various accommodation options at affordable prices. There are animals on the farm.

A different and exciting hiking option with many natural dramatic views. The path is quite difficult to see some parts. Map a must!

Directions

From the turnoff 3 km north of Hemavan's center, the narrow curvy gravel road leads past Stabbfors and Tängvattnet villages to Rönäs, 20 km. At the end of the road the trail starts towards Norway.

Från Rödli i Norge till Rönäs vid Tängvattnet. Jag gick den vägen 14 juni 2023. Min far gick den 23 september 1944 (via Tängvattenkåtan) såsom flyende tysk soldat.
