Description

Kammen nature reserve is a part of the extremely long Vindelälvsåsen, an esker that can be followed through the river valley all the way down to Umeå. The beautiful and easy Isälvsleden trail runs along the esker.

The forest on the esker is almost like a colonnade, fairly open and light. In the southern part are the really old trees, which bear traces of several forest fires. Some have stood here for 400 years. The rare Nothorhina muricata thrives here. This beetle likes old, sparse pine forest, where the sun warms the trees a little more.

Good edible mushrooms such as the Matsutake and the porcini can often be found in sandy pine forests, so it can be worth coming here during the early autumn. The type of porcini mushroom that thrives in sandy pine forests is actually called the pine bolete.

Jätte fin led att båda cykla och gå!

Hela Isälvsleden kan starkt rekommenderas för vandring. Men Kammen är helt makalös! Den bjuder på en enastående och lärorik naturupplevelse
