Adventure and experiences within walking distance Sorsele municipality/Suorsán tjeälddie consists of three destinations in one and is part of the UNESCO biosphere reserve, VindelälvenJuhtatdahka, a model area for sustainable development. At one end of the municipality is the tourist destination of Gargnäs, a village located on a headland between two different watercourses. At the other end is the picturesque Sami mountain village of Ammarnäs.

In between is Sorsele/Suorssá, a peaceful little community with a village feel, with the pristine Vindelälven river running along the footpaths and close to easily accessible nature and a number of excursion destinations such as the Inlandsbanemuseum, Älvkungen, the church and the Hembygdsområdet, etc.

Inlandsbanemuseet / Museum of Inlandsbanan Inlandsbanan's museum tells about how the railroad was built along the hinterland in the early 1900s. There are pictures, films and exhibitions of objects to take part in at the railway station in Sorsele.

Älvkungen / The River King The tour boat Älvkungen began using the Vindel River in 1921 to send mail, goods, animals and food. Today, the old boat is housed under a roof in the Sorsele homestead area.

Open-air museum The homestead area in Sorsele brings together old buildings such as a traditional farm environment and additional buildings scattered around a pond.

Sorsele church / Sorsele kyrka The church in Sorsele is located on the banks of the Vindel River and was built in 1859. For seven months, the parishioners built the church by hand with an axe and a wreath saw. Today it is one of Upper Norrland's best preserved churches from the neoclassical era.
