Description

The pines grow tall on Borstaberget’s steep slopes. Small ferns such as the common polypody and the brittle bladder-fern protrude from the precipices. The stone walls are covered by many lichens, such as the tree lungwort, and the rare angel’s hair has also been found here.

It is the nutrient-rich rock that allows so many to thrive here. The mountain also faces to the south-west, so it receives plenty of sun. Many of the trees here have stood for 150 years, with some up around 220 years old. Some have fallen to the ground, and a few bear the wounds of fires that ravaged this area many years ago.

Alldeles nytt reservat. Ställ bilen när du kommit fram till reservatet. Sista biten av vägen som går längs med reservatet är svår att åka med vanlig bil.
