Sånebyklätten, Naturreservat

Sånebyklätten was created when the ice sheet melted away and is the southernmost of a series of gravel deposits deposited by the glacial river that followed the Rottnaälven valley.

The reserve is gently sloping in the northern part with a sharply marked "goat's back" that increases towards the south. In the south, the hill ends with steep slopes from the highest point. Along the southern part of the ridge, beautiful shorelines appear after the inland sea with clear terraces. On the top area, pine and birch dominate, while spruce with elements of aspen is most dominant in the lower parts of the reserve.

The reserve was established to preserve Sånebyklätten as a geological formation and to allow the area to develop into a natural forest/ancient forest.

Information is available at the parking lot. Marked trail shows the way to and through the reserve about 400 + 300 meters.
