Description

The 130-kilometer Klarälvsleden trail runs from archipelago to wilderness and consists of a northern and southern section - both with a connection to the Klarälvsbanan.

The northern section, Uddeholm-Sysslebäck, is 120 kilometers long and runs on existing asphalt and gravel roads. The trail is natural and winds past farms and meadows, through large forests and villages, side by side with the mighty Klarälven. The southern part, Hammarö-Karlstad, is 10 kilometers long and runs on cycle paths and through residential areas. Surrounded by Lake Vänern, the coast and its archipelago are within reach.

In Karlstad/Uddeholm, the Klarälvsleden ends and the 90 kilometer long, paved and car-free Klarälvsbanan takes over. If you start in the south, you travel from an open agricultural landscape to the dark and friendly forest in the north.
