Before your visit
Parts of the reserve were adapted for accessibility in 2012. Most adaptations are made for the disabled.
There is an information board at the old parking lot. The information signs have larger text for better readability. Information about nature and culture is available along the nature and culture trail.
Within the reserve there are several marked trails. The adapted trail is 1.2 km long and the signposted nature and culture trail is 3.5 km long. The road from the parking lot has a slightly steep slope.
There are four picnic areas, two with picnic tables and two with shelters and fireplaces. There are two dry toilets, one at the nature trail. The others are adapted and are located at the new parking lot and at the end of the adapted trail.
Mobile coverage is usually good here, but it can of course vary.
Exciting ancient remains from the Stone Age
The area has a history of settlements and agriculture. The western part of the reserve consists mostly of different types of agricultural land. The eastern part is a forested hill that is about 50 meters high and is clearly visible in the landscape with its steep slopes to the north, west and east. On the top of the hill, especially in the north, there is pine forest with old, gnarled trees.
There are several ancient monuments on Bergs klätt. The ancient remains consist of a rock cist from the Stone Age and several cairns and a cairn burial ground from the Bronze Age. In one of the cairns, a dagger blade and a bronze skewer have been found.
Trail closures
The western trail to the top of the cliff and the trail between Klättetorpet and the southern windbreak are temporarily closed due to large amounts of dry trees that risk falling.
Respect the closures and choose the open trails.
Closed trail sections
Parts of the trails are temporarily closed due to high risk of dead trees falling. Please respect signage and choose the open trails instead.

If you are lucky you may see a nuthatch
On hot summer days, you can see many butterflies flying around along the beaches, such as the mourning cloak and admiral.
The nature reserve also has a rich bird life. If you are lucky, you may see great horned owls, kestrels, green warblers and warblers. For many visitors, the nutcracker is perhaps the most interesting. It likes to eat nuts in the hazel grove at the foot of the mountain in the west.
Bergsklätt is geographically located on a border where southern and northern plants and animals meet. The bell gentian grows here in its northernmost known location. Other plants that almost reach their northern limit are beach violet, curly-leaved lily, leafy bindweed and water lily.
Why the reserve was created
The reserve was established primarily to preserve the area as a destination for excursions and hiking. The area is part of the EU's ecological network of protected areas, Natura 2000.
