Description
The Gimo Damm Walk is an easy-to-walk part of The Uppland Trail which takes you around the Gimo Damm Pond. You can choose to start at Gimo Herrgård Manor or at the beach by the southeast end of the pond.
The hike mainly uses forest roads, normally with no traffic, but also paths through forests and across clear-cut areas. There are many places where you can take a break by the water and check out the pond and its bird life. There are rest spots with wind shelters and fireplaces at the northwestern and northeastern parts of the lake, as well as two barbecue spots on the western and eastern sides. If you’re here in the summer, you can finish with a swim at the lovely beach.
Difficulty level: Easy, half on roads or gravel roads, and half on easy-to-walk forest paths.

Forest paths and gravel roads. Larger shoes are recommended as some forest roads are covered with larger stones and wet areas occur in the forest.
Parking
Parking is available at Hammaren next to Gimo Herrgård at the western end of Bruksgatan or at the bath on the eastern side of Gimo damm.
Communications
The bus stop closest to the start is called Gimo bruksgatan and is 800 m from the inn. When you get off the bus, follow Bruksgatan west towards the manor. For timetables see www.ul.se
Directions
Take road 288 or 292 to Gimo. Turn onto Bruksgatan at the Sandvik factory. After one kilometer you will reach the starting point at Hammaren.

vi valde att vandra motsols och startade vid badplatsen i Gimo. vi fick tips av en vänlig badare att gå längs med vattnet efter en stig istället för den bilväg dit leden dragits om. vi tog sikte på vindskydd Gimo damm. väl på plats visade det sig att vindskyddet låg mitt på ett kalhygge. duger som sittplats 5 minuter men absolut inte för en trevlig eller mysig upplevelse. en till besvikelse var att flera km av leden vandras på en timmerväg(?) belagd med stora vassa stenar. såg ingen beskrivning om detta. så, vill man bara avverka kilometrar utan någon wow faktor, så kan man slösa några timmar på denna etapp. jättetrist. för naturen är verkligen jättefin i området utanför själva leden. rikt fågelliv. obs, mycket våtmark med spångar och stigar och i övrigt inte lämplig etapp för tält om man har ett sådant önskemål. / svårimponerad
