Description
Between Storvreta and Jälla lies the magical Storskogen nature reserve. As a hiker, you are greeted by lots of moss-covered boulders of all sizes, rocky outcrops, woodpeckers and many other forest-dwelling species. In the middle is a really old forest area, which is simply called Gammelskogen. Gammelskogen is one of Uppland's favorite places in nature.
Storskogen is a varied forest with both mixed forest, forest with large spruces and pure pine forest. The aspens in the area are home to many, more than just the lichens and mosses that you might easily see. Some of the most threatened insects in the large forest, such as the cinnabar beetle, aspen splinter beetle and aspen bark rodent, must have living or dead aspen as their home in order to survive.
Through Storskogen you can hike the 5 km long Vildmarksleden trail, marked with orange color. If you want to hike a little further, it or the 7 km long, red-marked, Jällaleden trail goes from Storvreta all the way down to Jälla. Both trails pass Gammelskogen. Near Gammelskogen you can make a small detour towards Trollberget, an area with large boulders lying all over the place. Here you can find exciting crevices and caves to crawl into. Halfway along the Vildmarksleden trail, there is a rest area with a shelter and fireplace. There is another rest area along Jällaleden closer to Jälla.
Sturdy hiking boots are recommended when venturing out into the boulder-rich terrain of Storskogen. A slightly easier hiking trail is located just north of the reserve itself. Northern entrance to Storskogen: Take the bus and get off at the Tistelvägen stop along Skogsvallsvägen. Walk across the large parking lot located east of Skogsvallsvägen. The entrance sign is in the southeast corner of the parking lot. From here it is a 1 km hike to the nature reserve.
South entrance to Storskogen: Take the county bus to the Jälla stop. Walk the road behind the school buildings, and you will soon reach the edge of the forest and an entrance sign on the left side of the road. From here it is several kilometers of hiking before you enter the nature reserve itself.

Storskogen is located between Storvreta and Jälla, northeast of Uppsala.
Northern entrance to Storskogen: From the E4, take the exit towards Storvreta and follow the signs towards the community. Turn right onto Skogsvallsvägen. A few hundred meters after you pass under the railway, there is a large parking lot on the right side of the road. The entrance sign is in the southeast corner of the parking lot.
Southern entrance to Storskogen: Turn north from road 288 at Jällaskolan. Follow the road around behind the school buildings, and you will soon arrive at a small parking lot on the left side of the road towards the edge of the forest. Beyond the parking lot is an entrance sign. From here it is several kilometers of hiking before you enter the nature reserve itself.

- utan Länsstyrelsens tillstånd använda området för organiserade tävlings- eller övningsändamål, lägerverksamhet eller motsvarande med undantag för Friluftsfrämjandets barn- och familjeverksamhet, i den mån detta inte strider mot reservatets syfte och övriga föreskrifter eller skadar områdets bevarandevärden.

Ha myggspray med.massor av vatten om det är kring +30. Bra skor och otrolig kondition. Det är stenigt värre. Väldigt kuperat område. Första grillplatsen går det ta sig något lättare väg än kuperad första 2km. Går att cykla till första grillplatsen .inga skyltar men finns väg som är skidspår på vintern och en skogsväg går ihop se karta. Förbi liten damm med linnè märke. Tyvärr inget dass nära jälla.bara 6km bort i Storvreta.
