Description
Fläktanstugan is always open and welcomes hikers to stop for a break. Fläktanstugan has a wood-burning stove, tables and two benches to eat at. You hike here along the Upplandsleden trail (1 km) from the parking lot at Nyby. The trail is marked with orange and red color and goes along forest paths with a lot of stones and roots.
Behind the cottage is the forest and in front of it is a wetland area where a bird tower has been built. Next to the cabin there is a fireplace, a bench table, a small dry toilet and a wood store.
If you want to hike further, there are several trails to choose from in Norra Lunsen Nature Reserve. For example, you can continue the Upplandsleden trail a few kilometers west and stop at Lunsentorpet. It is a larger cottage that is also open to anyone who wants to rest. You can also stay overnight in Lunsentorpet. However, Fläktanstugan is too small for that.

If you fancy a slightly longer hike, you can take the bus to the Moralund stop, northeast of Alsike. Hike Upplandsleden from there north to Nyby, about 3.5 km, and further west towards Fläktanstugan, about 1 km.

Fläktanstugan is located in the eastern part of Norra Lunsen, about 1 mile south of Uppsala C. You get here after 1 km hike along Upplandsleden from Nyby.

By car: Take road 255 from Uppsala towards Sävja. Turn left towards Östuna before the railroad tunnel and the passage over Sävjaån. After about 5 km turn right where there are signs for Norra Lunsen 3 km. Continue to follow the signs towards Norra Lunsen and drive until you reach the railroad and the large parking lot at Nyby. From here it is a 1 km hike to the cottage.

Om man parkerar på parkeringen vid järnvägen öster om Fläktanstugan så är det en kort promenad på 900m till Fläktanstugan. Perfekt för små barn att orka. Bänken med bord är lite rangligt, var försiktiga. det höll på välta när en vuxen ställde sig upp och en vuxen och två barn satt på andra sidan.
Vi gick från Stordammen till Fläktanstugan. Det hade varit bra med skyltar som det stod Fläktanstugan på.
En jättemysig plats.
