Description

Stora Träskets nature reserve is a magical natural area consisting of the forest lake Stora Träsket surrounded by swings and a natural coniferous forest with great species diversity. Many insects thrive here, which benefits bird life. You will find woodpecker holes left by our largest woodpecker, the woodpecker, in several places. The fungal flora is abundant in terms of lichens, edible fungi and tree-growing ticks. Wood moss and old spruce lichen grow in the area. Here you can hike via the crop duck trail and also spend the night in the nice windbreak on the shore of Stora träskets.

Activities And Facilities

Since Stora Träsket is located in a large forest area, you should bring a good map with you when visiting the reserve, preferably Lantmäteriet's green (1:50,000) or yellow map (1:12,500), and preferably also a compass. A nice way to get to Stora Träsket is to follow the Grödingeleden trail that runs through the reserve. Suitable starting and ending points are Berga vägskäl, northeast of the reserve where the bus to Skanssundet stops, and Näs by in the south. From these points it is about 5 kilometers walk to the reserve. There is also a parking lot north of the stable building at Viads farm, south of Tallbacken. From there it is about 1 kilometer walk.

To protect the natural and cultural values of Stora Träskets nature reserve, special regulations apply. Among other things, it is forbidden to damage the land, plants, trees or wildlife, to light fires outside designated areas and to keep dogs unleashed.

Certain activities, such as prolonged camping, major events or the erection of signs, require municipal permission. If you are planning an activity that contravenes the regulations, you need to apply for a permit or exemption in advance.
