STF Fredriksborg Hotel

Fredriksborg Hotel is stately located above the Oxdjupet fairway with a panoramic view of the sea and the surrounding islands. The hotel consists of several different buildings that frame the courtyard and are surrounded by greenery.

The cozy rooms are decorated with love for the history of the building. Built in 1751 as a soldier's and officer's residence, original features such as beamed ceilings, solid wooden floors and thick walls still exist today. At the same time, it offers all the modern comforts you need to truly unwind.

Adjacent to the hotel stands Fredriksborg Fortress, one of the archipelago's most impressive defense facilities from the 18th century. Here you can wander between gun platforms, viewing ramps, stone walls and walkways that tell of a time when the fairway below was a strategically important passage to Stockholm.

Outside the gates, smaller paths lead down to the water, along cliffs and through pine forests. It's easy to find your own spot for a break, picnic or evening dip. There are plenty of sheltered bays with barbecue and bathing facilities, running tracks, hiking trails and cycle paths. Hike in an archipelago environment, via the "Myttingelinjen", up towards Skäggaudd, or perhaps over to Rindö towards Vaxholm, where boats can take you further out into the archipelago to explore one of the beautiful islands. Or why not take a boat into Stockholm for a day trip. The area around Fredriksborg is full of nature and relatively uncrowded.

When you return to the hotel, well-prepared food with an archipelago flavor awaits. The main building's restaurant focuses on seasonal ingredients and pure flavors, in a relaxed and homely environment. During warm evenings, the terrace is a popular place with views of the fairway. Breakfast is served in bright rooms with sea views and consists of freshly baked, local items and carefully selected ingredients.
