Description

On top of the Rösaring ridge, you will find an ancient processional path that is perfectly straight, 540 m long and bordered by stones. This path is believed to have been used for the burial of a prominent person in ancient times. It begins at the foundations of a structure built at circa 800 AD. This structure is most likely the remnants of a building used to cover a grave, also known as a “death house”.

At the opposite end of the path, you’ll find an ancient grave site with burial mounds and an ancient labyrinth. The reserve is named after this labyrinth (Rösaringsåsen translates to “cairn ring ridge”). From here, there is a fantastic view over Lake Mälaren!
