Rönninge by-Skavlöten naturreservat

Important recreational area

The Rönninge by and Skavlöten nature reserve is located along the eastern shore of Lake Rönninge and is a fine outdoor recreation area. At Skavlöten there is an exercise yard and from here there are exercise trails and a lighted trail. There is also an open-air swimming pool and in winter a skating rink is plowed on the ice of Rönningesjön.

Varied nature

Older coniferous forest grows in the northern part of the area. At Skansberget in the center of the area you have a nice view of both the lake and other parts of Täby. In the southern part of the area is the 19th century village Rönninge by with active agriculture. The nature school also has its premises here.

Rich bird life

The bearded grebe nests in the lake and the gray heron also likes to come here to look for food. In the filtered light of the forest you can meet the stonechat and the green warbler. The reserve is also one of the few places where you can spot the rare lesser flycatcher.
