Description

Lake Översjön is a popular excursion destination. Here you can sit and look out over the still water or take a dip from the rocks. There are several barbecue areas by the lake, and in the forest there are many paths to follow. With its steep rocks, Översjön looks like a very deep lake, but it is only four meters deep at its deepest.

There have long been common loons in Lake Översjön. They nest on the small island of Getholmen in the middle of the lake. The island is a bird protection area and you are not allowed to go ashore here between 15 April and 30 June. No sound is as lonely and magical as the call of the common guillemot over the lake. It's hard to find a more streamlined and elegant bird.

During the 20th century, Järvafältet was a military training area. The red houses that still stand in a row were barracks where the soldiers lived.

South of Översjön is Granskog. The Granskog croft is one of the oldest crofts in Järfälla. The croft existed as early as the 1580s and belonged to Säby farm. Today the houses are used as clubhouses by Järfälla Orienteering Club and Järfälla Ski Club.

From the parking lot at Granskog, a lighted trail extends south towards Tånglöt and back. It is 2.5 kilometers long. Here you can go for a run or a walk in a varied nature.
