Description

In the parishes of Markim, Orkesta and Frösunda there are traces of people's lives, work and faith over a thousand years and more. Runestones, old house foundations and burial mounds tell of drama and everyday events long ago. The medieval churches along the way offer quiet spaces of timelessness and peace.

To walk as a pilgrim is to walk with all your senses open. Inga in Snåttsta, Ulf in Borresta and Livsten from Torsholma are some of the people from the 11th century who have walked here before us. They have given their names to three pilgrimage routes in Vallentuna.

The shortest trail is the Livstens trail, which both begins and ends in Frösundagården. It consists of partly more difficult terrain on winding paths and tractor roads, nature is rich and varied.

Along the way, Frösunda church and five other places are marked on the map where you can stop and read about these places or listen to audio files here on Naturkartan:

  1. Frösunda Church
  2. Forest glade with anthill
  3. St. Olof's spring
  4. Livsten carving
  5. Klashagen
  6. Livsten harbor
