Description
In the parishes of Markim, Orkesta and Frösunda there are traces of people's lives, work and faith over a thousand years and more. Runestones, old house foundations and burial mounds tell of drama and everyday events long ago. The medieval churches along the way offer quiet spaces of timelessness and peace.
To walk as a pilgrim is to walk with all your senses open. Inga in Snåttsta, Ulf in Borresta and Livsten from Torsholma are some of the people from the 11th century who have walked here before us. They have given names to the trails.
The Inga trail starts at Frösunda church and Frösundagården, just a few hundred meters from Frösunda station, and ends at Lindholmen station. The trail is mostly on a road passable with wheelchairs and strollers, a short section goes on a tractor road, which later returns to a road.

The easiest way to get to the trails is to take Roslagsbanan. NOTE! During parts of 2020, Roslagsbanan is replaced by bus 27A. It is only the Livstens trail that starts and ends in the same place. Take Roslagsbanan's Kårsta line from Östra station to Frösunda. It takes 43 minutes. The trail ends at Lindholmen station, from there trains go to Östra station. It takes 39 minutes.
By car: From Stockholm, take the E 18 towards Norrtälje, turn off at Arninge towards Vallentuna, then follow arrows towards Lindholmen and Frösunda, 4 miles from Stockholm, takes 45-60 minutes by car. From the E4, turn off at Upplands-Väsby, head towards Vallentuna, then follow signs for Lindholmen and Frösunda.
