Description

Several bird species thrive in Årstaskogen, such as the tufted titmouse, the common robin, the great spotted woodpecker, the nuthatch and the goshawk. The rare fungus pine tick, which grows high up on the trunk of old pines, is also common in the area. A varied broadleaf forest grows at Årsta farm. In the eastern part of Årstaskogen there is also an area of broadleaf forest with oak, lime, maple and ash. The area also has high cultural-historical values, such as Dianelund allotment garden and Årsta farm.

Activities And Facilities

Public transportation T-bana- Gullmarsplan, then take bus 160, get off at Vättersvägen, Åmänningevägen, Ottsjövägen or Årsta gård. Bus 164, get off at the Tämnarvägen stop.

Ferry to Årsta islets : From August 1 to the end of September there is a ferry connection to Årsta islets. The ferry runs Wednesdays and Sundays from 09.00 to 19.00, once an hour round trip. The tour cycle normally starts every hour on the hour, departing from the pier in Tanto.

Take the subway to Gullmarsplan. A short walk on Simlångsvägen by Värmdö gymnasium and you are the eastern part of the reserve at the colony area. The western part can be reached from the footpath that runs along the quay in Årsta dal. Otherwise, you can reach Årstaskogen from the residential streets in Årsta.
