12 km by bike is nothing when a cake buffet is waiting!

Mixed paved road and gravel road. There is a pedestrian and bicycle path from Mariefred to Läggesta, turn off at Marielund. Then cycle track along the rails of the museum track to the Hedlandet discount department store.

Tip. Stop by Drottningkällan in Taxinge, which takes its name from Katarina Jagellonica, who fetched healing water for Duke Johan (later Johan III) when he was imprisoned at Gripsholm Castle.

In summer, the museum railway operates the Mariefred - Taxinge Näsby route some days and some days the Mariefred - Läggesta route with steam trains.

There is also a boat service with S/S Mariefred (some Wednesdays and Saturday - Sunday) between Mariefred and Taxinge Näsby. Bicycles can be taken on board the boat for a fee.
