Sliperiet Gylsboda
Mötesplats för kultur, konst och konsthantverk
Den vackra byggnaden har renoverades och är sedan år 2015 ett kulturcenter med diabasverkstad, smedja, ateljé för målande konstnärer, keramikverkstad, musikscen, en stor visningshall för konst och hantverk samt ett kafé. Diabasen är en stor del av bygdens historia och även idag är den central i arbetet med konst och konsthantverk här.
En av Europas största samling mineral och fossil visas också här.
Föreningen Sliperiet Gylsboda grundades 2015 med syfte att lyfta bygdehistoria och vara en ny mötesplats för konst och kultur. www.sliperietgylsboda.se

**History of the grindery
The old industrial building was built in the early 1900s and was previously a fine stone carver linked to the diabase industry that has existed in Gylsboda since the late 1800s. Inside Sliperiet today there is a collection of old pictures and materials showing life from Gylsboda in the old days. In 1974, a sculptor's symposium was held, which helped to give diabase a special place in art.
**Nature
Gylsboda is located in the forested part of northeastern Skåne, near the border with Blekinge and Småland. The hilly terrain makes the landscape unusually wild for southern Sweden. Lynx pass by from time to time and the large quarry attracts some fauna.
