Description

Perslund's homestead includes a fully functional mill. The mill, or windmill, is a so-called Dutch mill with a hood that can be turned so that the wings catch the wind. The mill was built in 1879 in Höör in central Skåne.

At the turn of the century it was bought by the miller Olof Andersson. He demolished the mill and rebuilt it at the northern exit in Åstorp. It operated there under various owners from 1907 to 1966. In the early 1970s, the mill was handed over as a gift to the Åstorp Local History Society, which demolished it and rebuilt it in Perslund.

The mill is complete with millstones, shafts and gears of wood, wings with sails and elevator equipment for flour sacks.
