Snöbryggan, fågeltorn och rastplats

The snow bridge is located along the western bank of the river Stångån just north of the Kallerstad Bridge. The site was previously used to dump snow from the city's snow removal, but now there is a new pier with picnic tables, seating and a bird tower. Here you can enjoy nature and birdlife, experience boating and fishing.

The jetty has been adapted for accessibility. This means that it is possible to visit with a wheelchair or pram, for example.

The bird tower is a good place to watch birds from. If you're lucky, you might spot the beautiful blue kingfisher, which usually nests in the landscaped nesting slopes on the other side of the river. In winter, there is always open water here, which means that overwintering birds such as moorhen, bittern, grebe and kingfisher like to come here. The reason the river does not freeze is that the treated water from the wastewater treatment plant is discharged here.

The jetty is also a great fishing spot where you can catch nice perch and pike. Fishing with rods and similar hand gear is free in this part of the Stångån, so you do not need a fishing license.
