Description

The old Rödberget quarry with its dramatic rock face is located on the western shore of Näken. This is where the red Graversfors granite was once quarried, which became nationally famous and was also exported.

The red granite was used for a fountain at Lund University, Tjolöholm Castle, the Glyptotek in Copenhagen and is also represented in the Swedish Parliament building and the Royal Opera in Stockholm.
