Description

The Town Hall Park is located in front of the Town Hall and the Old Town Hall. The entrance to the town hall is guarded by two mighty wooden eagle sculptures. The sculptures each stand on a large elm stump. The elms were affected by Dutch elm disease, but the stumps are left standing to benefit biodiversity. Chainsaw artist Stefan Karlsson has made the sculptures.

The park is mostly grassy areas and tall trees such as maple, lime, chestnut and wingnut. Several of them are classified as perpetual trees. There is also a living stump of a chestnut in the park.

On both sides of the entrance to the old town hall stand two mighty columned oaks. This beautiful old building was bequeathed to the municipality in 1908. The owner, Captain Carl Anton Ahlbom, had no heirs at the time of his death.

On the lawn you will also find a little girl statue called 7 years. The artist is Sten Ericsson.
