[Ödeshög] Ödeshög - Omberg/Stocklycke EN

This is one of the most beautiful stages in Östergötland! The trail mostly follows Lake Vättern and offers magnificent views of the lake and the magically beautiful Omberg.

Stora Lund nature reserve, which the trail passes through, is one highlight. The reserve has barbecue areas and swimming facilities.

Food and drink can be purchased in Ödeshög, and there is a restaurant in Hästholmen, about halfway along the route.

From Ödeshög, the trail follows an asphalt road for a few kilometres, after which you walk on paths and small gravel roads. The stage is generally easy to walk, but through Stora Lund nature reserve the trail crosses rocky slopes, making the hike more demanding. It can also be slippery in wet weather.

At the foot of the Omberg is Ellen Key’s lovely Strand residence with garden. The hike continues through the beautiful landscape of the Bokskogen nature reserve with Östergötland's largest population of beech trees. Some sections pass close to precipices, which requires caution, especially when the ground is damp or if you have small children with you.

At Stocklycke harbour there is a shelter, barbecue area and a toilet. You can also swim here. Stocklycke hostel is right next to the trail.
