Description
Kärsbyån is one of few reproduction areas for trout on the eastern side of Lake Vättern. The association "Motala Flugfiskare" has restored the river since the beginning of the 1990s. Several tonnes of gravel and pebbles have increased the water speed and the conditions for trout spawning. Today, during autumn about 30 fish wander up the river and play.
In the spring, the eel-like neon eye and grayling play in the river. One of the prerequisites for the rich fish fauna is a diversity of insects, which also benefits bird life. In the winter,
White-throated Dipper can be seen here, and in spring, during the blooming of Wood Anemones you can hear a massive chorus of singers and thrushes.
Along Kärsbyån's species-rich and valuable slopes there is a beautiful nature trail where you can read about the valuable fish species that live in the river.

väldigt vacker och meditativ plats. ån har ett vattenfall och ringlar sig genom skog med fallna träd. den mynnar ut på Vätterns fina sandstrand.
