Description

Husbyvik at Slätbaken north of Mogata offers a cozy little bathing place next to the edge of the forest surrounded by beautiful natural and cultural environments. The lush forest next to it creates opportunities to sit both in the shade and in the sun, depending on what time of day you are there. There is a sandy beach for those who like to wade out slowly or a jetty for those who prefer to throw themselves into the cooling water with a little speed. Changing cabins for men and women and dry toilets are available in the area and if you feel like grilling your lunch, there is also a barbecue area available.

A short distance from the beach is Husby säteri - a privately owned castle from 1795 that offers unique environments with an authentic atmosphere.

Facts

In 1979, Christer and Gunilla Wastesson awakened the castle from its almost 100-year "Sleeping Beauty Sleep", i.e., the Wastesson family became the great rescue. The castle building, with its surrounding wings, was in extremely poor condition, they were in complete disrepair. For about 20 years, an extensive and careful renovation took place, restoring it to its true original. First the exterior, then the interior, where the splendor of the past was brought back to life.

Since 2012, the castle has been owned and run by Fredrik and Irene Wastesson. The business has constantly evolved to offer unique environments with an authentic atmosphere from the late 18th century where food, meetings and parties are in focus. Husby Säteri also has many animals such as breeding jumping horses, large natural pastures for young horses, fallow deer / red deer, sheep and cows.
