Description

The last event in Gamla Folkets Park was held in 1976. The activities were then moved to the new folk park in Marieberg. What remains today is a park with grassy areas and beautiful tall trees such as maple, lime, birch and oxel. In early summer, a very beautiful avenue of Japanese cherries blooms in the park. The location at Platengymnasiet means that the park is used extensively by the school at, for example, school graduations.

A stone bench with an inscription reminds us of the time when the folk park was in operation. Here you can also read that the park was built in 1903 by volunteer workers from Motala Verkstad. The bench is beautifully placed on a hill
