ARKNAT Stora Klint, vindskydd

High above Alvastra, this ARKNAT windbreak hovers on the southeastern slope of Omberg with a stunning view of the Östergötland plain.

The shelter has room for 3-4 people sleeping. Above the shelter there is a barbecue area and dry toilet.

You can get here by following the Stora Klintslingan which takes you through the beech forest on Omberg's southeastern slope. Alternatively, you can hike the "Ellen Keys trail" up the mountain from the starting point Alvastra. After about 500 m you reach a gravel road. Turn east and follow the gravel road about 800 m to Stora Klint.

The windbreak at Stora Klint is one of the three installations created during ARKNAT August 2023. ARKNAT is a two-week architecture festival where architecture students from all over the Nordic countries gather to create unique site-designed windbreaks Read more about ARKNAT here.
