Description
In the Tåsta nature reserve, the limestone-rich soil makes itself clearly felt. Here you will find many discerning plants and fungi that thrive in calcareous soils. The limestone-rich bedrock has also attracted people. There are several marble quarries in the reserve that are now popular watering holes for the great crested newt.
The reserve is part of Natura 2000, the EU's network of valuable nature sites.
