Description

Forests that offer peace and quiet, bogs and limestone flora. There are many rare species of fungi and orchids. Mixed coniferous forests grow on the heights and marshes and bogs can be found in the valleys. Mantorpskogen has many plants and fungi that benefit from the influence of limestone from the bedrock. The limestone is the most important natural condition for the area's great and distinctive species richness. Several different types of orchids can be seen, such as knotweed, woodruff and helleborine. In the spring, wood anemone and thistle bloom, and in May, violets and lilies of the valley. When the snow melts, you can find the bombardier's marble, as you can see in the picture.

The reserve is part of Natura 2000, which is the EU's network for valuable nature.
