**Ljustjärn - A small magical gem on the slope of Kroktjärnsberget

Ljustjärnsskogens nature reserve covers a hilly forest area on the steep slopes of Kroktjärnsberget, where old, dense spruce forests are criss-crossed by paths from earlier times. Many species of lichens, mosses and fungi thrive here, as well as birds and other animals that depend on old, untouched forests.

In the southeastern part of the reserve is the small magical Ljustjärn. It can be reached by car and a marked trail extends around the lake. The Postleden hiking trail also passes here on its way between Sassalampi and on towards Kopparberg.

At the nicely prepared picnic area with shelter and fireplace you can sit and enjoy your lunch with a nice view of the lake.

Activities And Facilities

From Ställdalen: Turn off Ställbergsvägen towards Kumlan and follow Svartviksvägen for about 4.4 km. On the right side of the road, the entrance to the reserve is marked with a sign "Naturreservat" (the sign is old and can be difficult to see). Turn left onto the forest road. Note that the road goes steeply uphill in places and can be in poor condition with few places to turn. Follow the forest road for just under 2 km to a crossroads where you drive straight ahead. After another 500 m you come to another crossroads where you keep right. Drive another 500 m and you have reached the info sign.
