Pahakurkkio ravin och fors

In the western part of the municipality outside the village of Saittarova, the Kalix River breaks through a narrow gorge, the rapids are called Pahakurkkio in Meänkieli and mean "rocky and difficult rapids". The place is an excellent excursion destination for the whole family or maybe even for the first date. Here you can climb the rocks next to the roaring wild streams, find a nice place to make a fire and the sandy beach below the rapids is perfect for summer swimming.
