Description

Nåddok Nature Reserve stretches over a ridge between the Lais River and Lake Västra Mullejaure, offering a glimpse into our historical forest landscape. With deep, primeval-like spruce forests and expansive wetlands, the area harbors very high natural values.

The forests are dominated by primeval spruce forests with elements of 200-year-old birches and willows that have grown up after a fire approximately 250–300 years ago. There are also several hundred-year-old old pines and standing dead wood, which create habitats for sensitive and threatened species such as woolly polypore, rose polypore, and the threatened wood fungus rynkskinn.

The area has a long history of human impact, with archaeological and cultural historical remains that demonstrate how important the forest has been for the Sami people. There are no marked trails or facilities for outdoor activities, allowing for exploration of this untouched natural forest area.
