Lomtjärn is an outdoor recreation area on the outskirts of Piteå that has been set up for recreation, activities, bird watching and hiking. The area has shelters, tables and benches, fireplaces and a jetty for birdwatchers. Accessibility is good as the main path is adapted for wheelchairs.

At Lomtjärn, there is a really old pine forest with trees more than 200 years old. The great spotted woodpecker is one of the birds that need old forests to find food and live. Traces of past human activity are also visible in Lomtjärn. The open grasslands were previously cultivated and grazed by animals, and the foundations of old houses and stone fences show that people used to live and work here.
