Description

At Lake Läen, there is the Lessebo culture trail, a path of just over six kilometers that takes about two hours to walk. Most of the area is now covered with pine and spruce - but there are also deciduous forests, cultivated areas, abandoned fields and meadows.

Along the trail there are 25 information boards telling you about what happened in times gone by. The trail passes through land where people began to settle as early as the Neolithic period. During the Iron Age, activity in the area increased and people cultivated more and more and laid stones in large cairns. Iron ore was extracted from Lake Läen to make tools, and the trail bears witness to these activities. There are also remains of 19th century farmsteads with fields, meadows and pastures. Older wells and house foundations can also be found along the trail.

The path is marked with white rings on trees, but you can of course walk a shorter distance. At Lake Toragöl there is a jetty to sit down on and at the other end of the trail, near Ekebacken, there is a beach and picnic area.

Vacker vandring genome gammal odlad mark. Tyvarr Överensstammer inte alltid markeringen med stigens förlopp som ratats på kartan i appen.
