Description

Drinking Tree is a stylized, silvery artwork with a tree shape growing out of a well. On the trunk of the tree is a drinking water tap from which anyone can draw water directly, similar to how sap is drawn from a tree. The tree gives the illusion of sucking up water from the well and that the water in the well is led in from the lake. The tree's branches end in oval-rounded shapes that evoke water reservoirs. In the dark, the blue, cool light from the well reinforces the work's mystical qualities. This artwork by the artist Anna-Karin Arvidsson won the vote in Växjö Art site stage 3. The work was erected in 2011.

Enjoy the artwork and refill your water bottle!
