Description

Technology course

The technical track in Svartbäcksmåla is a place for everyone who wants to have fun on the bike, you will find it in the pine forest between Pukevallen and Grönmovallen. It consists of an approximately 400 meter long round loop with bumps and metered turns that can be cycled with basically any bike - but the faster you go, the harder it gets!

Nature has determined the route of the course, which weaves its way through the trees, down and up through a depression, and over and around some windfalls. Along the way, there are several different challenges for those who want to practice their technique:

The staircase The staircase is a climb that can be tackled in different ways. On the far left (in the direction of travel), the difference in level between the steps is the smallest, so stay on that edge to start with. The more confident you feel, the further to the right you can go. If you come at a really high speed, you can jump the whole staircase in one go.

Drop zone Next to the staircase is a "drop zone", with built in ledges at different heights. Start by trying the lowest one until you feel comfortable and then work your way up. Remember to keep your center of gravity fairly far back when descending the drop to avoid the front wheel diving down, and keep your knees and arms relaxed when you land.

Balance board On the balance board, which is also a shortcut on the loop, it is important to keep your tongue in your mouth. Stepping up, standing on the pedals and keeping your feet at roughly the same height is usually a good recipe, then your body and bike are in balance and you are ready to pedal when needed.

Stone coffin Built-up stone coffins are a common feature on mountain bike trails, and rocks lying all over the place are something you may have to negotiate on every other trail. Try to find the flattest line, and keep your speed up so you don't have to pedal through the rocks. Keep your center of gravity fairly far back, so that if the front wheel hits a rock, it doesn't come to a sudden stop.

The creeping obstacle Cycling fast is difficult, but being able to cycle slowly also requires practice. It can be useful for getting around sharp bends or weaving through dense trees. The creeper consists of a number of logs that limit the area you can turn on, so it's important to adjust your speed and pedal in the right place.
