Tunneltorget

Tunneltorget is part of Sävsjö's Garden, with a focus on perennials and biodiversity. There is a pedestrian tunnel under the railway and several flower beds with great variety. Perhaps the place is most beautiful in spring when the cherry trees are in full bloom.

Tunneltorget in central Sävsjö is home to a variety of exciting shrubs, trees, perennials and flower bulbs. One of them is the katsura, which in the spring unfolds its heart-shaped leaves and then in the autumn turns into a colorful autumnal coat. As the leaves of the katsura fall, the scent of freshly baked bread spreads over the small square.

In spring, the large multi-stemmed mountain cherries bloom on bare branches with their intense pink cherry blossoms. Under the trees, spring bulbs form a colorful carpet.

Summer offers lush greenery where different shapes and colors of foliage create beautiful contrasts.

In autumn, the mass of leaves changes to glowing autumn colors that provide additional beauty together with conifers and other urban green leafy plants. There is also a work of art in the form of a fountain and plenty of seating for those who want to rest their feet before continuing their journey through the city.
