Description

Nydalaleden is a pilgrimage trail that follows the footsteps of the
first people to populate Sweden – a road that has been continuously updated and
transformed into both the trunk road Riksettan and the E4 motorway. The trail,
several stretches of which run parallel to River Lagaån, passes many
interesting ancient monuments and lets you discover small picturesque villages
as well as forests and meadows. The trail runs from the border of Skåne up to
Nydala Abbey, where it joins a larger network of pilgrimage trails. The network
still extends from Trondheim in Norway to Santiago de Compostela in Spain.

Visit
Nydala Abbey where there is an abbey garden and church stables with basic
accommodation. The abbey was founded in 1143 and was named Nova-Vallis by the
monks.
