The Vallsjö Gravel Loop

Vallsjörundan is a true gravel gem in Småland – a scenic route combining winding gravel roads through dense forest with open views, sparkling lakes and small countryside villages. The loop starts and finishes at Isaberg and is mainly ridden on quiet gravel roads, narrow paved roads with little traffic, and existing cycle paths.

Early on, you pass Ettö Nature Reserve and the historic Isaberg Golf Course, beautifully located along the river Nissan. Here you’ll be greeted by rushing waterfalls and traces of history from the old Nissafors ironworks.

Along the way, you’ll find several great stops and short detours: the farm shop Övergårdens Tvål in Ulvestorp, Lidernas Mill, and the old log-driving flume in the Valån river. At Southern Vallsjön, it’s hard to resist a break – or a refreshing swim.
