Rest hut Lövnäsvallen

Small cabin in poor condition. There are bunks and a slightly damaged fireplace. Bring your own wood. Pilgrim stamp and information board for the Romboleden Lövnäsvallen trail are nearby.

This type of cottage is called "Störrös" in Härjedalen and traditionally, the Störrös was the first house built on a new farm before the permanent houses were in place. The house often consisted of timbered walls and a roof, but no floor. Along the walls were sleeping and sitting benches. There was a hatch or opening in the roof for the smoke from the fireplace to escape.
