Description

Here you can experience a spruce forest with high natural values. You can see traces of the fire that ravaged the forest 170 years ago. The traces are visible as charred stumps and damaged bark on pine trees. Dead trees, both lying and standing, are also found in various stages of decomposition. This provides the conditions for special insects, lichens and wood fungi to live on. Birds that like to eat insects like dead trees. There is a lot of lime in the soil. It nourishes the soil and that's why the forest in Ljusberget Nature Reserve grows fast and you can find trees with a diameter of 60-80 centimeters.
