88. Lakavattnet - Hotagens naturreservat (svår)

The walk in this area goes through the gigantic nature reserve of Hotagen. There may be difficult fords, for example over the Hara River in the south. It is teeming with small lakes, streams and bogs if you choose to walk in the interior of the nature reserve. An alternative if you want to walk more dry-shod is to walk through the eastern part of the reserve up to Stenfjället where you turn west towards the destination. If you choose this route, you may need to cross Storån on the snowmobile trail east from Lakavattnet, in order to follow the eastern border of the reserve. There you pass, among other things, Gråberget's magnificent old forest, east of Stor-Fulvurn.

This is reindeer grazing land, so respect and keep your distance from the reindeer herds you see.
