- Nature reserve
- County: Hallands län
Actions
Description
The slope down to the eastern shore of Lake Hjärtared is covered with beech and oak forests. There are many unusual species here, especially among lichens and mosses. There are also some islands in the reserve that are also a bird protection area for the Eurasian bittern, as well as parts of Hjärtaredsjön.
The Hjärtared nature reserve consists mainly of deciduous forest on a western slope facing the beautiful Hjärtaredsjön. The reserve also includes some small islands, which have been a bird protection area since 1983. The nature reserve consists mainly of heath beech forest, but a smaller part is heath oak forest.
To visit the area
The area is nice to visit all year round, but there are no facilities for outdoor life. Adjacent to Hjärtaredsjön it is very beautiful, here it is well suited for a coffee at the beach or a peaceful forest walk.
Outside the reserve in Hjärtaredsjön it is possible to hire a boat, go fishing (fishing license required) and there is a municipal bathing area.
