Description

The Falkenberg - Varberg section is an easy cycling part of the Kattegat Trail. Here you cycle through open landscapes and experience both untouched nature and popular beaches.

After Falkenberg, you continue along a stretch of coastline that really brings the expression "open landscape" to life. Here you can stop at lesser-known bathing spots such as Stafsinge beach and Petters brygga, or enjoy beaches with more life and movement such as Olofsbo, Björkäng and Apelviken. Perfect when you need to fill up on ice cream or a bite to eat.

Make small stops along the way - there is a rich bird life and several nature reserves. Also make a detour to Morups Tånge with the impressive lighthouse that has spread its light over the sea since 1843. On your way you will also pass several cozy fishing villages such as Lövstaviken, Glommen and Träslövsläge, all well worth a visit.

As you approach Varberg, you'll pass Apelviken, the beach that attracts tons of windsurfers from all over Europe. The trail takes you on to Strandpromenaden and past Varberg Fortress before reaching Varberg Harbor with Kallbadhus and Societetetspark.
