Description

In the middle of the Bollaltebygget cultural reserve is an unusually well-preserved older four-length farm with roots in the 17th century. The aim is to preserve the farm and its immediate surroundings, as well as to recreate an open cultural landscape as it looked at the beginning of the 20th century. The best time to visit Bollaltebygget is in the summer when Knäreds hembygdsförening organizes guided tours and other activities. But the reserve is worth a visit in all seasons.

The land around the farm has an old-fashioned character with several cultural relics such as a well-preserved lane to the outfield, stone walls that delimit older pastures and cairns. On the outfield north of the farm, a remnant of the former heather moor is preserved and south of the farm there are older deciduous pastures and marshlands where grazing, haymaking and the extraction of straw peat were previously practiced.
