Description

The bird protection area covers the open, grazed coastal meadows within Yttre Stockviken in southeast Gotland.

The area is one of the richest in birds on Gotland. The area's breeding birds include waders such as redshank, oystercatcher, ruff, curlew, redstart, avocet and dunlin, as well as other species such as little tern and sandwich tern.

Especially during spring - from early April to mid-May - but also during the fall - mainly in October - thousands of Barnacles rest in the area.

In late summer and fall, large numbers of waders of many different species rest at Yttre Stockviken.
