Description
The sun bed is traditionally managed with mowing and felling, it, as well as the house foundations and the stone walls in the area, are different examples of our cultural heritage. A beautiful place, perfect for picnics!
The house foundations probably date from around 500 AD. From the remains of the stone walls, it is believed that there were three different farms with 3-5 houses each. The farms' lands and fields were surrounded by stone enclosures (vastar), which are still partly visible. The fences kept the animals away from valuable land and formed paths to the pasture in the forest, where the animals roamed freely.
Today it is cultivated land, but when the farms were active there were lakes and marshes to both the north and south.
