Description

In 1909, a path was built from Järvsö village, which came to be known as the stairway, up to the lower peak of Öjeberget. The path ended at a hut that was 3x3 meters in size. 22 years later, the hut was in such a bad state that the Öjeberget association decided to renovate it, at a cost of 248 riksdaler. Over the years, the hut was expanded and became a cottage, which became a restaurant with LillBab's name on it, which became an after ski resort and then nothing. Today the hut has been demolished, but the staircase is still there! The hike up is about 0.5 km and demanding as it is steep uphill. As the name suggests, there are stairs and handrails. At the top you will find a nice viewpoint with a fantastic view of Järvsö village and the Ljusnan valley.

Musik liten led, den tog och 90 minuter tur och retur, passade utmärkt medan vi väntade på tåget hem till Uppsala. Lättvandrad med trygga räcken, 7 av 10 tallkottar, would hike again.
